How we prepare and check what we publish

Last updated:

RBLWS exists to help veterans and their families understand gambling harm and find practical support. This page explains how we research, write and correct the guides you'll find here.

Topics come from the questions you ask

We choose what to write about based on the real questions people bring us—veterans seeking help, families trying to understand what's happening, people looking for the tools and organisations that can make a difference. If a topic matters to you, it matters to us.

How we research each guide

Every guide we publish draws on public reference works, official guidance from public bodies and recognised organisations working in this field. We check facts against more than one source where we can. At the end of each article, you'll find further reading—the sources we used—so you can go deeper if you want to.

How we write

We use plain language because clarity matters when you're in crisis or under stress. We explain terms the first time we use them. We don't exaggerate what's possible or promise results we can't deliver. Content about gambling is written with safer gambling in mind. 18+.

We stay independent

Nothing on this site is paid placement or a sponsored ranking. We don't sell anything to you. The editorial team makes decisions about what gets published, and those decisions are ours alone.

We correct mistakes and keep things current

When something changes, we review and update our guides. If you spot an error, write to [email protected] and we'll put it right without delay.

Have a topic in mind?
