Our Ambassador of Song, Claire Madden, shares her thoughts about The Women's Section

Become a member

Becoming a member is by far the most effective way to support our work.

Membership starts from only £6.30 a year and means you can fundraise with other women in your local community and raise money for forces families in need.

Who can join?

Membership is open to all women over 16 years of age including:

  • Women in HM Forces
  • Ex-Servicewomen
  • Female dependants of past and present Servicemen and women
  • Women who do not have a service connection but support the aims of our organisation

For girls aged 12-15 who are interested in joining the Women’s Section, it is now possible to join as a Youth Member.

Benefits of joining

Joining the Women’s Section is a great opportunity to meet other women in your local community, have a bit of fun and most importantly, fundraise for a fantastic cause!

As a Women’s section member, you’ll enjoy a range of activities throughout the year including national events such as the Legion’s Festival of Remembrance and the Women’s Section 3 day Annual Conference, social events, workshops and seminars.

You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in local, regional and national fundraising events (including the November Poppy Appeal), train and qualify as a Standard Bearer, Parade Marshal or Caseworker, and develop news skills to take on Branch and County Committee positions.

Take a look at our membership case studies to learn more about what our members get up to and the voluntary positions available.
